In particular, it shows how immigrants have relied on the church to adjust to a new country, as plants of temporary residency have turned into permanent resettlement, and how American parishioners have learned to embrace this new group. Centered on various events from 2010, the film shows the ways this new population has inexorably changed the church, bringing within its walls new customs, new ceremonies, and new concerns.
