Apash means, in the language of the Jivaros, .outsiders.. This indomitable people that have inhabited the Amazon since some 1200 years ago, have been in conflict with the outsiders many times in their history, which, up until now has seen them neither annihilated nor reduced. Apash are the director of the documentary and Antonio Abreu, a veteran and eccentric Spanish adventurer who travel along the River Maranon, Jivaro region of the Peruvian Amazon. Both try, through the dialogue and mutual knowledge, to construct a documentary that helps the native communities in their struggle for survival as a people. This is a key moment in which the communities are in conflict with the industrial privatization and exploitation of the Amazon rainforest.
