Najvay-e Zaar

Người dân ở bờ biển phía nam Iran tin vào jinns, hoặc linh hồn của gió. Họ tin rằng mỗi loại gió mang theo nó một loại jinn cụ thể xâm nhập và kiểm soát cơ thể con người và linh hồn của nó. Những người sở hữu được gọi là Ahl-e Hava, hay người của không khí. Người bị chiếm hữu mất hết quyền kiểm soát và bước vào trạng thái gọi là Div Baad (gió quỷ) kéo theo một loạt cảm xúc giống như điên và u sầu. Các cá nhân bị chiếm hữu chỉ có thể được chữa lành nếu các jinn bị đuổi ra khỏi cơ thể của họ bởi những người trừ quỷ chuyên biệt gọi là Baba Zaar và Mama Zaar. Phép trừ quỷ được thực hiện trong một nghi thức đặc biệt gọi là Zaar, họ chơi nhiều loại trống khác nhau và thực hiện một số vật hiến tế.

The inhabitants of the southern shores of Iran believe in jinns, or spirits of the winds. They believe that every type of wind carries with it a specific type of jinn which penetrates and control of the human body and its soul. Possessed persons are called Ahl-e Hava, or the people of the air. The possessed person loses all their control and enters a state called Div Baad (demon wind) which entails a series of mad-like emotions and melancholy. The possessed individuals can only be healed if the jinns are evicted from their bodies by specialized exorcists called Baba Zaar and Mama Zaar. The exorcism is performed in a special ritual called Zaar which they play various types of drums, and carry out a number of sacrifices.
