The American Ambassadors to Japan

Ann Arbor, Michigan và Hikone, Nhật Bản là hai thành phố chị em từ năm 1969. Cứ sau 2 năm, thành phố Ann Arbor gửi 12 học sinh trung học cơ sở đến Hikone, nơi họ ở nhà tại Nhật Bản, đi học và thăm các di tích lịch sử trải nghiệm cuộc sống thực tế của Nhật Bản để mở rộng quan điểm của họ về văn hóa nước ngoài. Họ cũng ghé thăm Công viên Tưởng niệm Hòa bình Hiroshima và tìm hiểu và nhận ra tầm quan trọng của hòa bình. Trước khi đến Nhật Bản, họ gấp một ngàn con hạc giấy. Ann Arbor, Michigan and Hikone, Japan have been sister cities since 1969. Every 2 years, the city of Ann Arbor sends 12 middle and high school students to Hikone, where they home-stay at Japanese homes, attend school and visit historical sites to experience the real Japanese life to broaden their perspectives on foreign cultures. They also visit Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and learn and realize the importance of peace. Before going to Japan, they fold a thousand paper cranes. They bring them to the Peace Park and present them at the statue of Sadako Sasaki, a victim of the atomic bomb in Hiroshima. This documentary is a chronicle of the 2012 Ann Arbor - Hikone Sister City Exchange Program.
