Happy Birthday Tammy Moone is the intimate portrait of two transgender women. Close friends, Stef and Tammy were both born male. Stef lives openly as a woman. Tammy is about to come out publicly so that she too may live full time as a woman. Stef , who has long been her support system, acts as guide. This coming out tests the limits of their friendship. A story of two extraordinary characters, the film chronicles the curiosity that is identity; the vagaries of acceptance, rejection and love; and, the tenuous nature of relationships.
